FAQs

1. As a seller, what is the total commission I will pay with a regular real estate agent vs LowCommissionRealtor.ca?

There is no set commission rate in the real estate market, but generally sellers will pay 2.5% commission to the selling agent & 2.5% to the buyer agent, totalling 5%. It is not uncommon to also see total commissions of 6% (3% to the selling agent, 3% to the buying agent).

With LowCommissionRealtor.ca, we always charge 1% selling commission, and you decide what commission to pay the buying agent. We do recommend offering the buyer agent 2.5% in order to attract as many buyers as possible. If you decide to pay the buyer agent 2.5%, then the total commissions you would pay would be 3.5%.

There is no catch, we have the same accreditation as any Real Estate Sales Representative in Ontario, we simply charge less.
